Tamarindo

(August 23rd - August 27th)

We didn't actually stay in the town of Tamarindo, but that was the closest big city to where we were staying, which was by Playa Avellanas. The area was really nice, and the beaches were white sand and beautiful (plus lots of seashells!). There's a newly forming branch right close to the beach so we wouldn't have to go far for church, which is a bonus.

The only downside: there were a lot of rocks in the water. Not like individual stones, but gigantic rocks that are rough. Not so good when the waves are enormous and slamming you into them. When we could find spots with no rocks though, the girls had a blast wave diving and body boarding with Daddy.

The girls had fun at Playa Avellanas exploring a section of the beach with large broken seashell remnants, and they took their own pictures, too:

Playa Avellanas was a very beautiful beach, and we ended up going twice while we were here.

We also visited an awesome beach called Playa Grande, but I seem to not have any pictures except a few of us playing in the water:

The last beach we visited in this area was Playa Negra. It was the gross black sand (hence the name), but there was this pretty cool little oasis behind us on the beach with lots of wildlife.

We enjoyed our stay in this little town quite a bit! We'll probably be back once we make the rounds, but for now, here's a few random pics from our stay here:
