Nosara Part 3: Everything Else

We spent a lot of down time at the Braun's house, too. Amaia and their oldest K spent a LOT of time making food with hidden nastiness, trying to trick the next oldest, G, into eating it unawares (complete with floral garnish):

The day after the beach we went on a hike around some of the empty lots and overgrown roads by their house:

We also saw some monkeys (including a mother with her baby), but they were so far up there that even my awesome zoom lens couldn't get any decent pictures. At the house, you could constantly hear the howler monkeys calling to each other across the valley. It sounds like a wounded dinosaur. Sort of terrifying. (See video below)

There were plenty of bugs around the house, too. Not to say that Dayli's house is a pigsty or anything. That's just life in Costa Rica. We found a grasshopper in the fridge, a praying mantis on the stove fan, and a giant fuzzy moth laying green eggs on the stove top. That's not including the dozens of moths in and out of the house at any given time. When we got there, Dayli said she'd accidentally left the outside light on all night, so I had fun taking pics of some cool bugs:

Here's a video I compiled of our stay at the Brauns. It's got some audio of the howler monkeys, their littlest D and I chasing a toad, and that praying mantis running around:

And a few more pictures to round out the stay:
